Kitchen Worktops

A key feature in many kitchens is the worktop, with huge range of choice available you will find something to complete any vision. With such choice the decision can be quite a daunting one, so below is brief guide to some of the popular options.

Solid Wood Worktops

You can make your kitchen a timeless classic with the use of natural wood. A fantastic versatile choice for any home, with the individual grain and texture adding individuality. Solid wood worktops are available in a wide choice of natural materials including the more traditional oak, beech, walnut, maple and ash, for a more exotic feel you could try iroko or bamboo.

Granite Worktops

If you like the idea of a natural material, a granite worktop is a stylish alternative to solid wood. A granite worktop made from the natural rock is extremely resilient to heat and general wear in a kitchen. A great investment, offering years of use. With its unique pattern a granite worktop offers a perfect individual touch to a home.

Laminate Worktops

A laminate worktop is an affordable and durable option. It is made from a chipboard finished with a laminate coating which allows for a range of finishes including matte, gloss and honed. These are easy to source and with the huge choice of design can complement any style of kitchen. A laminate worktop will offer a durable and cost-effective option. Despite being one of the cheaper options they are extremely hard wearing. They are easy to fit and is a popular choice for many homes as it is extremely easy to maintain and care for. With the huge range of finishes including those that replicate some of the more expensive choices such a granite and wood you can replace a laminate worktop to offer a quick refresh a tired kitchen

Composite Solid Surface Worktops

In very simple terms a composite worktop is one that is made of more than one material, so different from the solid wood or granite worktops which would be described as solid surface. In turn the combination of materials making up a composite can result in an extremely tough, durable product similar in many respects to the laminate worktops. Whilst cheaper than many of its counterparts the composite solid surface worktop still offers an elegant finish to a kitchen.
